Essentially a friendly challenge between friends in which one friend is given a prompt, and once the ficlet is written, the positions are swapped. Since I seem to have forgotten how to make a prompt table, I will merely list each ficlet in order of receipt under each participant's name. The prompt number should tell you everything you need to know about order. I will also do my best to condense what is usually a two sentence challenge into a three word prompt, or a one word prompt if I can manage it.

What is with the monologuing? The more the bad guys talk, the more time they give the good guys to escape or come up with a plan to stop them. And Vice versa, the good guy is so busy monologuing, and the bad guy, instead of running or whipping out a gun/knife/sword/etc and killing the good guy and thus making a case of the Bad Guys won and surprisingly everyone lived happily ever after whereas had the good guy won, the bad guy would come back since the good guy could never bring himself to kill the bad guy and so said bad guy would cause trouble for people everywhere. And heck if that wasn't a very crazy run-on sentance. Try saying that without taking a breath.

But we're off topic. WHAT IS WITH THE MONOLOGUING?! Less talk, more action! God, this is DBZ all over again!

Pet Peeve Fanfiction Edition!

Lazy writers. They want someone living a a certain period of history in a certain country. And I really hate when they use obviously foreign names for their characters who are supposedly natives in a country in a time when the country in question is throwing around isolationist policies. I've lost track of how many stories I've stopped reading because there's a girl called Astrid born and raised in a shrine in pre-Bakumatsu Japan or a ninja called Joseph in Konoha. That and the slang! The very foreign, very modern slang being used in period Japan/China/France, etc.

And you know what I've noticed? I go to the profile pages and all these stupid, lazy writers who can't be bothered to try and pretend their character is actually part of the story? Almost always American. --facepalm-- Makes me NOT proud to be an American.
